Building Grit

There was a pretty interesting article in the times last week defining willpower as a muscle you can build over time. As you can imagine, this sort of celebration of discipline is like cotton-candy colored crack to me, and I'm already brushing my teeth with my left hand. I'm going to try and view my work schedule similar to how someone trains for a marathon. I certainly need to stretch more frequently, but would like to get to a point where I can sit at my desk and draw or ink in a highly focused manner for somewhere between four and six hours straight.

Was home this weekend visiting my niece and parents and also took some reference photos for Power Out. The water tower exists, and I can see how I was enamored with it as a pugnacious lad. Exhilarating and terrifying.

you could use more protein for all this work.

SEE?
From the Times article you cited:
Foods that persistently elevate blood sugar, like those containing protein or complex carbohydrates, might enhance willpower for longer periods.

But, the complex carbs burn off faster than the protein.
