Back at it

I've had a wonderful week, hosting and enjoying a city I love but will leave soon. Close friends and limited time tend to foster perspective, and a reminder of what's important. Assessing where I'm at in this current story and where I need to go, I am determined to have a productive week.

I have a whole lot to do in the coming month - my taxes, moving out, and investing enough time for an appropriate farewell to a place I've called home for four years. I also want to create a "packaged" version of Power Out to send to the Center for Cartoon Studies, hopefully improving my chances at their half-tuition scholarship. This will include a printed out thumbnail of the entire comic with balloons for dialogue, character design sheets and descriptions, a brief summary of the plot, and a sample of around 10 or 12 pages. Such focused ambitions have previously been aided by a certain personal asceticism that reminds me every time I look in the mirror that I'm fucking serious dammit! but I might have to hold off until my sister's wedding. It's going to be interesting figuring out how I want this book to look, and will actually try a little ink (like, black liquid stuff in a bottle that I apply with a brush) on some roughs tomorrow.

There's so much to be done this week! This might require more planning than usual.
